Pre War German Locomotives take on the grades!

Built to take steep grades, these two German locomotives push and pull this train up to the plain to Neuenmarkt, Wirsberg, Germany.

Both of these locomotives are oil burners, once converted from coal. Built by Henschel & Son, Kassel and L. Schwartzkopff, they were both operated by Deutsche Reichsbahn (DRB). Hence their designation as DRB Class 41 and DRB Class 01.
