Powerful Jet Engine Turbo Melts Snow Off This Train’s Plow! | Train Fanatics Videos

Awesome video footage of a flat-bed truck that has a jet engine mounted to it melting the snow off of the plow of a train. This is a trick used by the Canadian Pacific Railway in Lake Louise, Canada.

This is typically NOT a normal occurrence and this jet engine is normally reserved for thawing out the switches on the tracks.

You can see it gets the job done quite nicely though! The only reason they decided to pull out all the stops for this thaw-job was a concern with pneumatic mechanism. As you can imagine, it probably puts a lot of wear and tear on the train and her finish! Surprisingly, the process still took about 50 minutes in total.

When you start watching the video you can really hear this puppy ROAR so make sure you got those speakers cranked up!

Are there any engineers out there that ever had to go to measures this extreme to get the snow and ice off? Everyone would love to hear your stories below!
