UP’s Big Boy Like You’ve Never Seen It!
You’ve seen the glorious Union Pacific Big Boy in many different iterations. From models, to larger scale replicas, and of course, the real thing, but this might be the ultimate crossover from hobbyists of all sorts!
Introducing the Lego Big Boy engine, the perfect cross between the world of railfans, and Lego enthusiasts! Powered by a 9 volt battery, this bad boy has a 4 setting power function and carries its electronics in its boiler as well as its tender!
The engine and tender alone take over 200 lego pieces!
Unfortunately this design is not available as its own set, and if you want one, you’re going to have to put it together, piece by piece. The train, inspired by Lego enthusiast Jayhurst, is actually affordable as far as lego sets go with a price tag amounting to around 300 dollars!
Considering most model Big Boys go for an upwards of 1400 dollars, this is perfect for the Big Boy fan on a budget!
Do you have any Lego train sets that might compete with this Big Boy? We’d love to hear about it!
