UP 844 Highballing Towards Oregon

UP 844 Highballing Towards Oregon | Train Fanatics Videos

#844 seen here is giving us one showing us just exactly what she can do highballing at 80 Mph as she charges westward bound to Oregon!

UP 844 was built in December of 1944 meaning she just turned 70 years old and is still running strong!

She is seen in this clip in some pretty outstanding pacing shots no doubt having just left the UP shops in Cheyenne Wyoming, passing the Laramie river, which flows between Colorado and Wyoming! While she is definitely seen showing off here, 844 is still nowhere near her full power capacity. Weighing in at just over 900,000 pounds engine and tender combined, 844 is capable of reaching a max speed of 120 mph!
