CSX VS M109 Paladin Howitzer – And The Winner Is ?

Grade crossing catches another one!

While hauling a manifest through Goose Creek, South Carolina, a CSX freight happened upon a stranded 18 wheeler semi-truck with a 38 ton M109 PALADIN Howitzer in tow. The driver managed to escape injury as well as the surrounding civilians.

The impact was so severe on the artillery piece was struck twice, spinning the turret and barrel.

It is not known if the 38 ton M109 PALADIN was carrying any rounds inside is ammunition racks.

The mobile M109 Paladin Howitzer is a self propelled artillery piece that has seen service in multiple conflicts including Viet Nam and Iraq.
