You Can Ride The Train, Or You Can Do This!
Epic Challenges, a Youtube channel in its first year, has set out to complete its name sake, a series of epic challenges!
In the second challenge completed, the EC crew: James Heptonstall and his friend Noel Carroll, attempted to race one of their local metro trains. Based in London, England, James and Noel chose the Circle Line Tube to attempt his sprint, between the Mansion House and Cannon Street stations!
The journey between stations was 380 meters, or 1246.72 feet!
The two boarded the train together, both adorned with cameras, and once they arrived at the Mansion House station, the sprint began. James flew out the train and began his 380m journey to the tubes next stop! Meanwhile Noel stayed on the train recording the whole thing, waiting for his friend to return to the train.
James ran roughly 16 feet per second, or around 11miles per hour!
Somehow with some particularly amazing sprinting ability James made it to Cannon Street before the train departed!
The sprint which included climbing 75 steps and passing through two ticket barriers took roughly 1 minute and 20 seconds for James to complete, and he did it in spectacular fashion!
So do you think you could make the same kind of time as a train? How crazy was this guy? Share your thoughts with us, we’d love to hear from you!
