Double Header of Berkshire Steam Locomotives

Nickel Plate Road 765 and the Pere Marquette 1225 run full bore!
Built by the Lima Locomotive Works in 1944 and 1941 respectively, they both weighed in at combined locomotive and tender weight of 1,672,500 lbs!
The Nickel Plate 765 (built in 1944) was originally built for the Nickel Plate Railroad (Chicago to Buffalo) established as far back as 1881.
The Pere Marquette 1225 was built for the Pere Marquette Railway (founded in 1900) and served in and around the Great Lakes region of the United States.
Both engines were work horses the country during World War II hauling men and materials across the Northeast United States.
