Big Boy Engineer Scolds Railfan!
Union Pacific Senior Manager of Heritage Operations Ed Dickens is seen climbing down out of the cab as he halts Big Boy’s departure from a maintenance stop in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming.
While Big Boy was getting all greased up before the next leg into Nebraska, a railfan put something down on the tracks in front of Big Boy.
As the locomotive started to pull out from its stop, Ed notices something that doesn’t seem right.
Ed stops Big Boy and climbs down out of the cab to take a closer look. He walks a a good distance to retrieve something he saw from the cab and it turns out to be a camera.
The railfan that put the camera on the tracks walks up to Ed and they have a one way discussion while Ed escorts him back down the tracks to the rear of the train.
It is not known, what, if anything happened to the overzealous railfan…
Let us know what you think about the situation. Just remember the tragic event that happened with UP 844 and a railfan that got to close!
