Mention of the name “BIG BOY” gets the attention of all railfans!
On August 29, 2013, railfans in Dallas, Texas got to see quite a treat as Big Boy 4018 was moved to her new home in Frisco, Texas.
The Museum of the American Railroad coordinated this move of all of its rolling stock to the new location in Frisco, Texas, as part of total relocation of the museum itself in August of 2013.
The clip is narrated by the museum staff and offers beautiful views of this magnificent machine rolling on the mainline for the first time in 48 years.
Big Boy 4018 currently resides in the museum in Frisco and is hopefully going to be restored one day.
The Big Boy could pull a 5 1/2 mile long train on level ground!
Please let us know if you have ever had a chance to see Big Boy #4018 on her way to Frisco or on display. We would love to hear about your experience!
