Unbelievable Drone View Of Cass Scenic Railroad! | Train Fanatics Videos

No one needs to be told twice about the beauty of the Cass Scenic Railroad, but no matter how many times you hear it, you can’t help but feel like you’re hearing it for the first time. The heritage railroad, an 11-mile long scenic stretch is located in Cass, Pocahontas County, West Virginia.

The Cass Scenic Railroad was founded in 1901 by the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company to haul lumber!

Walter Scriptunas II, professional photographer, instructor, and filmmaker, has graced us all with this stunning footage from his ‘Aeriel West Virginia’ series of youtube videos! Scriptunas achieves perfection with his drone footage hitting some great landmarks on the way.

The CSR has used the same Shay Locomotives for more than a half-century!

This clip includes footage from some favorites such as Gum Field, the s-curve below Whittaker station, and the third highest point in West Virginia standing at 4,843 feet: Bald Knob!

Has anyone here gotten out to ride the Cass Scenic Railroad? We’d love to hear about your time there!
