Startled freeway motorists get a wake up call!
Surprised drivers and motorcyclists hit the brakes when they see this monster pop up next them! This could only happen in Los Angeles on the MetroRail line connecting downtown LA to Pasadena, Azusa and beyond to San Bernardino.
The 210 freeway was built around these existing tracks which served Los Angeles with passenger service from the foothill communities many years before the freeway was constructed. East bound lanes one side one side of the tracks, and west bound lanes on the other.
What fun would it be to be the engineer on this one and watch the traffic reactions as Sante Fe #3751 barrels along!
The Sante Fe 3751 was present at the grand opening of the Los Angeles Union Station in 1939 and made regular runs between Los Angeles and San Diego, California.
If you’ve ever taken a ride behind the Santa Fe 3751. Would love to hear your experience on this classic piece of history!
